MONTREAL STEAK MARINADE

For 2 steaks:

1/2 cup olive oil

3 tablespoons Montreal Steak Seasoning (McCormick's)

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1/2 tablespoon minced garlic

Mix ingredients together in bowl. Season steak on both sides with Montreal Steak Seasoning. Put steaks into mixture and coat. Allow to marinate for about an hour.

Broil steak in oven for about 15 minutes, flipping every five minutes. This recipe brings out the real flavor of steak. What is the best marinade recipe for steaks and for how long before cooking?
Except for occasionally teriyaki, I don't marinate red meat any more - it gets mealy. For that matter I don't marinate white meat either - I brine poultry.

For years I've had a very simple way of cooking steaks. Go to the store and buy a large thing of garlic salt (NOT powder).

Take the steaks out a little ahead of time, be generous with the garlic salt on them (don't drown them, but don't be dainty either - give them a decent dusting and rub it in) and let them come up to room temperature. Then grill.

It's really an excellent and simple way to do steaks. I almost never do it any other way.
STEAK MARINADE

6 cups sugar

5 #10 cans Dole pineapple juice

2 1/2 quarts sherry cooking wine

1/2 gallon soy sauce

1 quart red wine vinegar

3 tablespoons minced garlic

This recipe makes a huge quantity (over 2 gallons) so you can just cut it down to suit yourself.. Play with it a bit, to get exactly the taste you want.

To marinade, use about 2 cups of marinade and cover your steak - then refridgerate for 2 hours or up to 2 1/2 days, turning at least once every day.

Then just grill your steaks to desired doneness...mmmm !
i like to let the steaks sit, totally enveloped, in rock salt. i usually let it sit for about an hour and then when i grill i take a handful of cilantro and dip the cilantro in a good white wine and 'paint' the steaks while they are on the grill. nothing better!
I use 1 or 2 tbsps of a Mccormicks steak seasoning (the coarse salt stuff) 4 shots of worcestershire sauce, about

1/4 cup of soy sauce,

2 tsps of prepared mustard, and

4 tbsp of balsamic vinegar

1/4 cup of wine (what ever you prefer)

2 cloves of garlic minced or 1 tsp. of garlic powder

whisk, place steak into a plastic zipper bag, and add marinade. Let it sit for a minimum of 30 minutes, for best results several hours!!
One of the easy things to do is put your steak in italian dressing overnight. It gives the steaks an amazing flavor and they are easy to prepare. Its my favorite way to prepare steaks and my entire family loves it.
instead of marinading your steak, you should put Montreal Steak Seasoning and rub it in...then cook whenever..you dont have to let it sit. Good luck!
