GIANT SNICKERDOODLES





1 c. butter, softened


1 1/2 c. granulated sugar


2 eggs


2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour


2 tsp. cream of tartar


1 tsp. baking soda


1/4 tsp. salt


2 tbsp. granulated sugar


2 tsp. ground cinnamon





In a large mixing bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.


In another bowl combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture; blend well. Refrigerate dough 30 minutes.





In a shallow dish combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Shape dough into 2-inch balls and roll balls in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place balls 3 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet (between 6-9 cookies on a sheet). Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Transfer to wire racks to cool.

CHOCOLATE SNICKERDOODLES





3 c. sugar


1 1/2 c. butter, softened (3 sticks)


2 tsp. vanilla


4 eggs


4 1/2 c. flour


1 c. unsweetened cocoa


2 tsp. cream of tartar


1 tsp. soda


1/2 tsp. salt


4 tbsp. sugar


4 tsp. cinnamon





Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cream 3 cups sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Blend flour, cocoa, cream of tartar, soda and salt into creamed mixture. Shape dough into 1'; balls and rolls in a mixture of 4 tablespoons sugar and 4 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2'; apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 9 to 12 minutes. 1 cup shortening


1 1/2 cups sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt


2 teaspoons cream of tartar


PREPARATION:


In a shallow bowl, combine 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Cream shortening; gradually add 1 1/2 cups sugar, beating well. Add eggs; beat well. Stir in vanilla.


In a separate bowl, sift together flour, soda, salt and cream of tartar. Add sifted ingredients to creamed mixture; stir until well blended. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place snickerdoodles 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheets.





Bake snickerdoodles at 400掳 for 6 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Makes about 4 dozen snickerdoodles
I really love this recipe it is from Food Network, when I seen them cook it, I was like I have to try it.





I had them at a bakery sale, and parties, wedding.....there is never any left.

Snickerdoodles Recipe





For the topping:





3 tablespoons sugar


1/2 teaspoon cinnamon





For the cookie dough:





3 1/2 cups flour


1 tablespoon baking powder


2 teaspoons baking soda


1/4 teaspoon salt


1/4 teaspoon cinnamon


1 cup butter


2 cups sugar


2 eggs


1 tablespoon light corn syrup


2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract





In a small bowl, stir together the sugar and cinnamon and set aside.





To make the cookie dough, stir together the dry ingredients.


In a bowl with a paddle attachment, cream the butter. Add the sugar and continue to mix, then add the eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla, and mix thoroughly. Add the dry ingredients and mix until blended. Chill dough 1 hour if it's sticky or difficult to handle.





Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.





Roll balls of dough about the size of a walnut then roll them in the cinnamon sugar to coat. Place on an un-greased sheet pan 2 1/2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until puffed up and the surface is slightly cracked. Let cool on the sheet pan a few minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.

* 1 1/2 cups Sugar


* 1 cup Shortening -- soft


* 2 each Eggs


* 2 3/4 cups Flour


* 2 teaspoons Cream of tartar


* 1 teaspoon Baking soda


* 1/2 teaspoon Salt


* 2 tablespoons Sugar


* 2 teaspoons Cinnamon





Preheat oven to 375F.


Mix 1 1/2 c. sugar, shortening and eggs. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, and soda. Chill dough. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts. Combine 2 tsp. sugar and cinnamon. Roll cookies in this mixture.


Bake for 8-10 mins., cool completely on wire racks.
Snicker Doodles


3 3/4 C flour


1/2 t baking soda


1/2 t cream of tartar


1 C margarine


3 T sugar


2 C sugar


2 eggs


1/4 C milk


1 t vanilla


1 t cinnamon


Beat butter 30 seconds. Add 2 C sugar, beat till fluffy. Add eggs, milk, vanilla, beat well. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Form dough into balls. Roll in cinnamon and sugar. Flatten with glass. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees.
